From October 28 to 30, the Meet and Greet for Latin American Youth Delegation consisting of nearly 30 young diplomats, scholars, journalists, and international students from 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries, including Brazil and Argentina, visited Qingdao. On the morning of October 29t the Foreign Affairs Office of Qingdao Municipal People's Government held a work exchange meeting with the delegation. Counselor Li Kehai from the Latin America Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the exchange meeting and delivered a speech.

This visit to Qingdao is the first stop of the Meet and Greet activity organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims to promote people to people connectivity between China and Latin America and expand the positive effect of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. During their time in Qingdao, representatives personally experienced the urban landscape of Qingdao, inspected Qingdao enterprises such as CRRC Sifang and Hisense, and gained a deeper understanding of the economic and social development of Qingdao. At the exchange meeting, the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office promoted the city of Qingdao and provided a detailed introduction to the exchange and cooperation between Qingdao city and the Latin American region in recent years, including cultural exchanges, enterprise development, and international cooperation. After listening, the representatives responded warmly and spoke enthusiastically, expressing their positive desire and confidence in strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Latin American countries and Qingdao.

Counselor Li Kehai said that youth is the hope for the future, and hopes that through this activity, more young people from China and Latin America can establish deep friendship across mountains and seas, and contribute their youthful strength to creating a bright future for China and Latin America cooperation. Ramiro Cruz, Minister Counselor of the Nicaraguan Embassy in China, stated that entering Qingdao, a Chinese port city, the charm of beauty, openness, and development is admirable. In recent years, the fruitful results of local cooperation between China and Latin America have been surprising. He will strive to spread the Chinese story and make positive efforts to promote China Latin America friendship and jointly build a community with a shared future.
